The charming coastal community of St.
Andrews by-the-Sea is one of Atlantic Canada's timeless treasures.
Situated a mere 20 miles (32 km) from the U.S. border along
magnificent Passamaquoddy Bay, this quaint, historic town provides
an idyllic setting with lots to offer. Take in stunning scenery from
land or sea, enjoy the clean ocean air and delight yourself in
awe-inspiring whale sightings in the nearby Bay of Fundy. As you
browse through unique craft and gift shops on the town's main
street, view the local artisans busy in their studios and sample
seafood fresh from the sea, you'll feel your cares drain away, and
you're sure to experience that famous Maritime hospitality.
Algonquin Golf Course & Academy
A seaside jewel! For over 100 years, golfers have traveled to this
charming seaside spot to test their skills, yet golf has changed and
so has The Fairmont Algonquin Golf Course. Redesigned in 2000 by the
renowned Thomas McBroom, the course will delight and challenge
golfers of every level. The layout, which takes full advantage of
its location on the shores of Passamaquoddy Bay, is full of
surprises and beautiful scenery. Especially breathtaking is the
oceanfront sequence of holes on the back nine. Golf has always been
a priority here, and our 2000 design just furthers the legend. As
part of the redevelopment, a clubhouse was constructed offering a
spectacular view of the bay. The Clubhouse Grill offers an exciting
menu including specialized theme nights and many maritime favorites.
Algonquin Golf Academy
Golf Academies are designed to evaluate your short and long game, to
teach biomechanical fundamentals and mental concepts, to improve
your motor skill learning, and to help you play with intelligence.
Academies are available from half day to five day formats,
and include instruction, video analysis, on course instruction
during 18 holes of golf along with meals.
