Altamer Restaurant specializes
in French and Caribbean cuisine with topical fresh daily specials
created by Executive Chef Maurice Leduc. The menus have been created
using the freshest ingredients in interesting combinations. In order
to ensure new ideas and taking advantage of seasonal ingredients the
menu is supplemented each day with a list of specials and creative
desserts.
The
Altamer standard of excellence is shown through a fine attention to
detail and impeccable service. It all starts with the beachside
setting as the waves gently roll onto the sand only 20 feet from the
terrace of the restaurant. The view and feel of nature is enhanced
by the modern architectural creation of the building itself. The
architect, Myron Goldfinger created a structure using the Anguillian
sailboat as inspiration. You will see in looking at the roof, the
sails of four racing boats sailing the sea at high speed. The
building design allows for maximum light and shadows, varying
throughout the day, dancing before you in the dining room as you sit
at your table. Best of all, the kitchen is a living work of art
behind glass walls with the Chef and his team in full action.
The
attention to detail is exemplified by the interior design of June
Goldfinger. The silverware, glassware, furniture and all serving
pieces were all designed especially for Altamer. The pieces all draw
from the environment with a theme of silver shells throughout
(designed from actual shells from the beach in front of Altamer).
Immediately upon entering the restaurant you will fell the casual
elegance of the layout and design. You will feel equally comfortable
in a tuxedo or shorts and a shirt.

Chef's Table
Do you love to cook?
Do you like to watch the Chef's in action?
Or just love great food and wine?
If
you answer yes to any of these you must book the Chef's table at
Altamer Restaurant. The table for six is located directly in the
kitchen where you will not miss out what is happening behind the
scenes. The team in the kitchen is great fun and will be part of
your interactive evening. Of course, if you want to just sit back
and relax, that's ok too.
Chef
Leduc and his team will explain what is going on as it happens and
of course there is the food. A true gourmet experience! You and your
guests will be served a series of specials (5 to 9 courses) directly
by the chef working the line. Each course will be specially created
just for your group and not from the regular menu. Of course the
perfect meal requires great wine. Don't worry, our sommelier will
have wine recommendations from the extensive wine list that will
perfectly accompany your meal.
The
kitchen at Altamer is beautiful stainless steel and is behind glass,
which allows you can see to the dining room and out to the sea. In
addition, you can opt for a partition if you prefer privacy.
Each
night is different and is tailored to the tastes and purpose of the
meal… a 40th birthday party, a business meeting, a group of close
friends, or just to experience the kitchen. With you own waiter,
service will be swift but unobtrusive with a focus on creating an
excellent dining experience right in the middle of the hub of
activity.
The
price is $550 for the table, which includes all food. The table is
yours for the evening, so plan to spend as much time as you like. It
is best to book in advance so the restaurant manager can coordinate
your evening.
