A variety of water sports is
available at Carlisle Bay including Hobie cat sailing, windsurfing,
kayaking and snorkeling. The water sports team are delighted to take
guests out on local boat excursions or snorkeling trips to the
nearby reefs.
Windsurfing and sailing clinics
are held most days. All equipment is complimentary. The stunning
freeform swimming pool is perfect for a refreshing swim or a quick
dip to cool off.
To preserve the tranquility of
the bay, motorized water sports including waterskiing and jet skiing
are not available at Carlisle Bay. These activities are a short
drive from the hotel.
There are nine fantastic tennis
courts at Carlisle Bay eight cushioned hard courts and one
artificial grass court. Four courts are lit for night play. A
fully equipped Pro Shop is happy to assist with any guest
requirement. Rackets, shoes and a ball machine are complimentary.
Professional tuition is
available for all ages and all standards either as group lessons
or privately. There are also a host of clinics from a never
touched a racket before clinic through to volley clinic, serve
clinic and doubles clinic.
Challenge matches, round robin
doubles and childrens tennis are part of the program. Corporate
tournaments can also be arranged.
Scuba Diving
Gain your PADI qualifications
in the warm, crystal clear waters of Antigua. Carlisle Bay offers a
range of daily scuba diving activities with courses suitable for the
novice up to the experienced diver. Managed by a group of PADI
professionals with years of international experience, courses are
available in both English and German. The theory lessons and pool
training sessions take place at the resort and the custom built dive
boat will collect you from the Carlisle Bay jetty for the openwater
dives
The Reef
Situated in Carlisle Bay,
Cades Reef is only five minutes away by boat. The two-mile long reef
is a designated underwater park and offers plenty of opportunities
to explore the underwater world. The reef has good visibility, up to
140 feet, and the coral is home to a variety of tropical, marine
life. For thrill seekers, night dives are available on request to
experience the life of the reef after dark.
