In the early 1990’s, the owner of the
Cuisinart Resort and Spa, Leandro Rizzuto visited the Land Pavilion
at EPCOT, Disney World, loved what he saw and said to himself,
‘wouldn’t it be grand to have a ‘state of the art’ food production
facility as part of his newly developing resort! Fresh, site grown
produce could be served to the guests as well as the facility itself
providing a unique opportunity for guests to experience the inside
workings of a hydroponics food production facility. |

By the new millennium this dream would
blossom into not only a 17,000 sq ft hydroponics greenhouse but also
14.4 acres of landscape including ribbons of color, a linear
reflecting pool, beach bar, an orchard/herb garden, bocce courts,
tennis courts, croquet field, children’s’ playground and a exercise
par course. |
