Bora Bora : One of the most beautiful lagoons in the world

The InterContinental Beachcomber Resort Bora Bora is anchored between two white sand beaches that border the shores of Point Matira, unanimously recognized as the most beautiful site in Polynesia.

An investment project of 7.9 million euros began in 2002 to remodel all of the existing bungalows and add even more, preserving their typically Polynesian character. The hotel now comprises 14 "fare" built at the edge of the beach under the shade of the graceful coconut palms, and 50 Overwater "Fare" that align their pandanus roofs above the crystalline waters of the lagoon. Among the Beach and Lagoon "Fare" are two Bungalow Suites connected by a living room.

Sunbathers will appreciate the large solarium terraces and the "fare" are all furnished with ultra modern equipment: air-conditioning, 2 telephone lines, 2 televisions, DVD player and individual mini-stereo system.

It is true that all the fine images and words you will find here can scarcely do justice to an island that has been dubbed the Pearl of the Pacific and has "the most beautiful lagoon in the world"!

But we hope you will like what you see and read about our small and intimate Moana Beach resort of just 64 bungalows, located at Matira Point, a magic 30-minute lagoon boat ride away from our unusual airport that is built on the encircling reef.

We aim to capture the spirit of Bora Bora in all we do - in the design of our bungalows (all some 600sq ft including their terrace and sundeck) and resort facilities, in the program of activities and entertainment and in wining and dining that will delight you.

No stay in Tahiti & Her Islands would be complete without the legendary Bora Bora and our resort team and I are just waiting to make you stay as lazy or busy as you choose, but certainly a very memorable experience.

Air Tahiti operates several one hour flights everyday between Tahiti and Bora Bora. There are also direct flights from Moorea.

The airport at Bora Bora is unusual in that it's built on a small island in the encircling reef, not on the mainland of the island. Our hostess will great you at the airport and bring you directly to the resort with our own boat - a magic half hour cruise across the crystal waters of the lagoon.

Accommodations
The InterContinental Moana Beach Resort Bora Bora has 64 luxury, junior suite sized, bungalows either built on stilts over the turquoise lagoon or lagoon side on the soft white sand beach. They measure a spacious 600 sq ft (55/57 sq m) including their decks.

The bungalows have roofs of pandanus thatch as did the traditional Polynesian homes called fare 

Whichever your choice of location, you'll find a decor style that pay homage to the natural Polynesian way of life. You'll feel very much in Bora Bora surrounded by coconut palm woods, woven palms fronds and even real vanilla vines decorating your bathroom.

Dining and Bars
International and of course French cuisines meet up with the freshest produce from Polynesia's and sea to create some memorable dining experiences!

We've something to match the moment and every mood in our two restaurants, two bars bars and 24 hour room service.

We are particularly proud of an association with one of France's top gastronomic restaurants, the renowned 3-star Michelin, Auberge de l'Ill, in Alsace. In collaboration with him and his team, we have developed menus to suit our tropical setting - they perfectly marry traditional with local, exotic touches.

Executive Chef, Bruno chmitt, from the Auberge de l'Ill, will tempt you with his ever-changing menu at the gourmet overwater restaurant.
