Moorea: The nature island
Close to Opunohu Bay on the northeast
coast of the island, sheltered from the prevailing winds, the
InterContinental Beachcomber Resort Moorea is nestled voluptuously
between the mountains and lagoon. Situated in the heart of a verdant
setting of 11 hectares (27 acres), these magnificent gardens contain
165 different species of trees, plants and flowers.
Confided to the talented hands of French architect Pierre-Jean Picart,
who loves Polynesia, the hotel underwent a big renovation project that
was finished in September 2002, with very pleasing results.
Accommodations
Our Moorea Resort has
142 accommodation units, all with the same standards of comfort and
luxury and a Polynesian theme decor. There are four categories to
choose according to your taste.
The 17 Garden Suite Bungalows, the 50
Overwater and 28 Beach Suite Bungalows (called "fare"), as well as the
48 Garden View Rooms, were all decorated with a concern of combining a
respect of local traditions with non-conspicuous contemporary luxury.
Noble woods and natural materials were elegantly used in the decor.
These include parquet or bamboo, Méranti of Indonesia partitions,
mahogany and wicker furniture and natural colored wall coverings. The
furniture of distinguished and original lines, as well as objects made
from Tahitian arts and crafts, (paintings, tapas...) compose a refined
and harmonious ensemble and reinforce the Polynesian identity of this
dream hotel. The only impediment to tradition (for the comfort of our
guests), the "fare" and rooms are all provided with a very modern
air-conditioning system.

International meets up with Polynesian culinary traditions. It's not
for nothing that Moorea is called the Garden Island and you'll enjoy

There are two hotel
restaurants - the delightful Fare Nui Restaurant and the more relaxed
poolside Fare Hana.
Entertainment

authentic taste of Polynesia, we present a program of regular dinner
shows in which dinner is followed by an exciting performance of the
inimitable Tahitian dances.
