The InterContinental
Resort Tahiti, formerly the legendary Beachcomber, has long been rated
the top hotel of Tahiti. It has a superbly romantic location lagoon
side in 30 acres (12 hectares) of tropical gardens, with spectacular
views across to the soaring peaks of Tahiti's sister Island, Moorea.
We are just over a mile (2 km) from the airport (important when you
arrive in the wee hours after a long flight) and the capital and port
city, Papeete, is about six miles (10 km) down the road. The perfect spot
to start and end you visit to the islands of Polynesia.
The essence
of Tahiti
You'll feel like in harmony with Tahiti in our resort where
no building rises above the coconut palms and where all the
accommodations capture the elegance and comfort of Colonial
Polynesia. We have three types of room as well as two types of
thatched overwater bungalows to choose from.
Les Grands Ballets de
Tahiti, the island's internationally-renowned performance group, has
chosen our Tiare theater restaurant for their home and you'll be able
to thrill to the sensual dances and songs that have been a feature of
Polynesian culture since time immemorial.
Superb
Wining & Dining
French and
international meet Polynesian. It's an exotic combination brought to
life in our two restaurants, two bars and 24 hour room service. We
designed our exciting menus in collaboration with the famed Auberge de
l'Ill restaurant in France.
A Complete
resort with Lot's to do
You'll relax in two
of the most beautiful infinity pools in all Polynesia and meet our
colorful fish life in our own Lagoonarium in the heart of the resort.
The Aquatica Center is on the spot for diving, snorkeling and all the
water sports. Then there's tennis, French bowls in the grounds plus
any number of activities and excursions in Papeete and around the
Island.
Restaurants and Bars
International and of course French
cuisines meet up with the freshest produce from Polynesia's and sea to
create some memorable dining experiences!
We've something to match the moment and
every mood in our two restaurants, two bars and 24 hour room service.
We are particularly
proud of an association with one of France's top gastronomic
restaurants, the renowned 3-star Michelin, Auberge de l'Ill, in
Alsace. In collaboration with him and his team, we have developed
menus to suit our tropical setting - they perfectly marry traditional
with local, exotic touches.
Executive Chef, Bruno
Schmitt, from the Auberge de l'Ill, will tempt you with his
ever-changing menu at the gourmet overwater restaurant,
Le Lotus.
