Our highly popular Theme Night Buffets allow you to indulge in the
exotic and romantic pleasure of dining under the stars. Most often
accompanied by spectacular local entertainment, these occasions are
not to be missed. The buffets and shows take place every Thursday
and Saturday nights. Thursday we offer the Tahitian buffet and
traditional dances. Saturday we offer the seafood buffet and fire
dance.
The Tahitian
Buffet and Show
If the weather permits, guests are seated outdoors on the terrace of
the Otemanu Restaurant, with a fantastic view of Otemanu Mountain.
The terrace is semi-circular in shape, with several tiers that
descend to a fire-lit ring of sand where the shows takes place.
Each show is an hour-long spectacle of exquisite singing and exotic,
rhythmic dances. These include the tamure, a very fast dance
accompanied by frenzied drum beats, and the aparima, where the women
perform soft, gentle hand-dances, each movement telling a story.
On Saturday nights we feature is a terrifying and magnificent
fire-dance, fearlessly performed by a male trio effortlessly
wielding huge wheels of fire. A full orchestra playing traditional
Tahitian musical instruments accompanies the dancers and singers.
The buffets features typical Tahitian dishes and local produce. For
Saturday's Seafood buffet Fish is generously featured. The buffet is
displayed in individual fares decorated with palm leaves and
flowers, with at least three chefs in attendance to grill the
guests' choice 'à la minute' and to explain the various dishes. |

Two
restaurants grace the property - Otemanu and Café Fare -
international cuisine is served at both.
The Rotopa Bar
The bar is open during the day and services the pool area and both
beaches until 6:00 pm when the Hiro Bar opens. Built as a
traditional fare with pandanus roof and fringes, this quaint bar
overlooks the pool and is itself a shady oasis from the heat of the
sun.
The interior of this fare has been decorated with examples of
traditional Polynesian dance costumes - elaborately beaded grass
skirts and feathered headdresses. Seating is provided in the form of
bar stools.
The Hiro Bar
Famed for its awe-inspiring views and surrounded by an abundance of
exotic flowering trees the warmth of refined woods from floor to
ceiling and a masterfully hand-crafted bar taking center stage.
Serving romantics and adventurers since 1993, the Hiro now has
additional seating on the terrace, and is an idyllic spot to sip
exotic drinks and nightcaps. In addition to incredible views, live
music is featured nightly |
