ALL-INCLUSIVE WEDDING CONCEPT PAGE

Three articles reside on this page to give you a little insight into some of the key considerations you will likely face (or need to face) with regard to a destination wedding.

Though we book (on average) at least one destination wedding a week, we also realize this is NOT for everyone!

Destination Wedding Checklist

Here are some guidelines in planning your destination wedding through Roads Less Taken.
        1.
       Location.
When? How many people do you want to be there...just you and your future spouse? Friends? Family?

2.       Determine your budget.
Considerations: airfare, hotel, document processing, meals, transportation, activities. Don't forget the all-important wedding items such as attire, photographer, flowers, ceremony fee, etc. If you are having friends or family, you must consider if they can afford the expense of the trip.

3.       Research the marriage requirements.
It may be as simple as going to the local courthouse, or it may be as complicated as having to be a resident. There are destination wedding coordinators who will handle all the license processing for you

4.       Documentation.
What type of documents are required? Birth Certificate (original, certified copy), passport, divorce decree. Must they be translated?

5.       Residency requirements.
Once you arrive at your destination, how many days do you have to wait in order to get married?

6.       Medical Tests.
Are certain medical tests required? Blood test, certificate of immunization?

7.       Filing Period
Do you need to send the documents in advance of the wedding?

8.       Waiting period.
From the time you get the license, how long do you have to wait until you can get married? Can you get it in advance?

9.       Witnesses.
Are witnesses needed? Must they be citizens of the country you are getting married in?

10.    Reservations.
Book your reservations early. Many resorts and hotels are booked months in advance, especially during peak travel seasons.

11.    Ceremony Type.
Are religious ceremonies allowed? Civil ceremonies? Check the regulations for the country to save you time and aggravation.

Make sure you confirm EVERYTHING two-three weeks before the wedding
